James McDiarmid • Project Manager  - NICF master fitter

James brings over thirty five years of  knowledge and experience to the business, having left school at sixteen he served his apprenticeship with T Cassidy & Co of Stirling before moving to MB carpets of Tillicoultry. In 1981 he became a self employed installer contracted to Sterling warehouse under guidance of then flooring manager John Finnegan. James then moved to London working exclusively in the contract sector carrying out installations of Axminster and Wilton carpets for well known hotel chains throughout the city.

On his return to Scotland he set up Bannockburn Cross Carpets with his family where he enjoyed ten years of successful trade as well as developing the skills of many apprentices which includes our head installer Kieran.  He continued to work as an installer till April 2016 when he joined The Flooring Company as business manager. Not only can James help with all  technical enquiries in regards to flooring products, he can give all the advise you need in relation to installation. James has won various awards during his time as an installer, he was the first NICF master fitter in central Scotland and is also a former Scottish floor covering champion.

Kieran McCartney • Installer

On leaving school  Kieran joined his uncle James at Bannockburn Cross Carpets to start a four year apprenticeship. Under the guidance of  James, Kieran became a highly skilled installer learning all aspects of the flooring trade. Kieran then joined James's brother Duncan former owner of Carpetmaster Stirling. He spend five years there before reuniting with his uncle  James at the Flooring Company in August 2016.

Conor Grant • Installer

Leaving school Conor followed in the footsteps of his father Ian working with a local carpet company for four years. Conor joined the Flooring Company on a full time basis along with Kieran in August 2016 handling all carpets and LVT installation.

Callum Sinclair • Apprentice 

Callum Joined the team beginning of August 2017  as an apprentice straight from finishing his level 5 Exams.

He will now learn his craft on site under the guidance of our Master Fitter and project manager James. He will also attend Glasgow city collage where he will obtain all his relevant qualifications over the next four years. 

Colin McDiarmid • Head installer 

Colin served his apprenticeship aged 17 under the guidance of his uncle Jim and by aged 19 was awarded his advanced Karndean installers certificate for LVT.  One of the youngest at the time to win this award in the country. Throughout the years his skill and knowledge have grown considerably making one of the best LVT and safety flooring installers in Scotland.
